Exchange in SUTD Week 6: Coney Island

This week our exchange buddy from SUTD took us on a one day trip to Coney Island. Coney Island (Serangoon Island) is located on the north eastern part of Singapore. Our exchange buddy said it is not one of the most popular tourist spots because it is quite far from everywhere.

Coney Island is so undeveloped that we will be surrounded by tall skinny trees along the trail. What's more, we can even encounter wild animals on the island. After searching online, I found most people suggest to explore this island by renting a bike. However, we didn't do that. We chose to walk on foot and it turns out really exhausting.

Do try out this "White Bee Hoon" (白米粉)

Salted egg sotong!

We're so lucky to encounter a wad of monkey

Exchange in SUTD Week 5: Hiking in the Mount Faber Park

Singapore is a very prosperous and well-developed country. However, there are still some green spaces in Singapore. This time, I would like to introduce a decent hiking trail to you guys--The Mount Faber Park.

The Mount Faber Park is located in the south of Singapore. To go to the park from SUTD, it takes roughly 1.5 hours via MRT. The closest train station to the trail is HarbourFront station. I would suggest one to go hiking around 8 to 11 am since it is very hot in Singapore.

The total distance I walked is about 3 km. There are several spots that one would want to take a good look at them. The reason why I love this trail so much is that we can sight some breathtaking view after climbing for just 10 minutes. And also, there are shades most of the time along the trails.

In short, instead of visiting all the hot tourist spots in a foreign country, I prefer to explore by embracing the nature like this.
